Dorothea Schürch

Dorothea Schürch is a singer, performer and improviser. After completing her MA Contemporary Arts Practice (HKB, Bern) and MA Research on the Arts (University of Bern), she did her PhD on avant-garde vocal practices of the 1950s (Graduate School of the Arts, GSA, University of Bern) using “audioscoring”, a method she specially developed for her research. She is now working as a post-doctoral researcher on tape compositions for voices of the 1950s and 1960s as part of the research project “Schreiben mit Stimmen” [Writing with Voices] at the BUA, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation.
