She is a member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers, the Lublin Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts, and the Bruno Schulz Festival Association. She is a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
She is an artist with a conceptual pedigree. She mainly deals with spoken performance. During her speeches, she tells stories from the borderline of art and ordinary life, paying attention to the definitional ambiguity of the difference between them. She maintains a distanced attitude towards any attempts to define art, thus escaping the standard expectations of interpretation.
26.07.2025, 16.45 – 17.15 – Spoken Performance, Art Nouveau Patio, 8 Tumska Street
For more than 20 years, Ewa Zarzycka has been inviting the audience to her fictional-realistic world and its protagonists, among them her husband – a professor of earth sciences, a postman, a newsagent lady, neighbours: a playwright, a philosopher.. She recounts conversations with them and describes what happens in her life. The dynamism of the story and the sense of absurd humor draws in and entertains the audience, and leads to unexpected reflections.
