About the artist
Michel Gorski (Michał Górski) (b. 1969, Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo) is a visual artist and performance artist connected with both Poland and Switzerland. He studied painting and performance at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and later continued his artistic development during a scholarship at the Academy of Fine Arts in Münster. Since the early 1990s he has presented his work in numerous solo exhibitions, festivals and group exhibitions in Poland, Switzerland, Germany, Italy and Latvia. His artistic practice focuses on performance, process-based art and experimental forms of expression.

Pantalonowanie (Trousers Transformation) explores transformation through processes of deconstruction and reconstruction. By dismantling, cutting, opening and reshaping materials, the artist treats decomposition as a way of searching for origins and generating new meanings.
The central motif of the performance is the pair of trousers—an everyday object that also functions as a symbol of human identity, language and culture. Working with both the physical material and its linguistic associations, the artist creates a performative process in which transformation itself becomes the subject of the work. As the artist asks: Will Mr. Talon survive?
