About the artist

Paweł Korbus is a visual artist, actor, performer, creator of videos and installations, a graduate in art education from the Institute of Fine Arts, Faculty of Arts, of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin.

He collaborated on theater and dance projects with Earthfall Dance, Atsushi Takenouchi, Kan Katsura, Gerald Tyler, and Paweł Passini, among others. He exhibits his works in gallery spaces and creates site-specifics in public places. Scholarship holder of the 2016 Visegrad Artist Residency Program with the project “ID-Influence Diagram”, scholarship holder of the Mayor of Lublin – the project Places – not places” 2017. Leader of performance and research projects such as: “Cross the Lands and Lens in the Eyes”, 2015; “O Miłosci ” (2014-2017); Home/Awatar/Translocation (2013). Together with the Chorea Theater and Fabryka Sztuki in Łódź, he co-led an artistic and educational program with disadvantaged groups “Attention Human! City tensions”. In 2012, he was a resident at AGÜSAD Antakya Contemporary Art Association in Turkey.
He presented his performances at the Lublin Performance Platform Festival; 2014 Performance Month in Berlin; Supermarket Independent Art Fair in Stockholm; Bruno Schulz Festival in Drohobych, Ukraine; Bedesten Festival in Antiochia, Turkey; Forgetting/Remembering Performance Art Meeting in Istanbul. He conducts interdisciplinary educational activities, including performance workshops, stuttering, scenography, light and theater workshops. In his educational work, he combines techniques of working with the body and voice with techniques of visual arts.
