Petro Ryaska

Petro Ryaska was born on 14th August 1975 in the village of Bilky, Zakarpattia region, Ukraine. He lives and works in Uzhhorod and Bilky.

As an interdisciplinary artist, he practices painting, drawing, acting, visual poetry, texts, videos and traditional wushu. Engaged in curatorial and non-curatorial practices, he conducts his own ethnographic research, whose focus is on the topic of time. He believes that we are what we invest our time in. He deals with the issue of identity and is interested in gender relations and critical art, sports and sports in art as well as art in the hands of the empires of the past and present. The topic of joke is relevant to him, too.
